OU Men's Basketball Releases 2013 Non-Conference Schedule

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

As Lon Kruger and the OU men's basketball team prepare to embark on their European tour, the school released their 2013 non-conference schedule on Monday. It is noticeably lacking in really any true marquee opponents, outside of a possible tournament match-up with Michigan State, but a manageable schedule for a team looking to replace a significant portion of last year's squad.

Following the losses of Romero Osby, Sam Grooms, Steven Pledger, Andrew Fitzgerald, and Amath M'Baye it makes sense that the Sooners would put together a less challenging non-conference schedule. It gives Kruger, his staff, and this young team a chance to hopefully build some confidence and work out the kinks before Big 12 play starts. Unfortunately, it might not help attract people to an arena the school already has trouble filling on a regular basis but even Blake Griffin couldn't do that. So it 'is what it is' as they say.
