On a weekend where Big Twelve Schools have already suffered upsets, West Virginia was able to escape William And Mary on Saturday afternoon. With both their offense and defense struggling through the first half, the Mountaineers found themselves at a 17-7 deficit going into the intermission.
The second half would be all WVU in the second half though as the Mountaineers would hold the tribe scoreless through the final thirty minutes while scoring seventeen points themselves. While needing some time for their offense to find its stride, the Mountaineers held the Tribe to just 98 total yards of offense in the second half to pull off a 24-17 win at home.
