Preseason CFB | Oklahoma's Blake Bell Named To Maxwell Award Watch List

While preseason lists hold little to no value for many, they give fans a great idea of where to turn their heads when the action begins. This year is no different as a couple of Sooners have found themselves on multiple watch lists.

As the media days are approaching faster than ever, preseason lists continue to be compiled and push out to the public. After the Oklahoma Sooners placed two players on the preseason All-Big 12 Team, some credit has been given to Brian Bosworth's theory that the talent pool on the roster is significantly lower than that of the past. Whether you are buying into that theory or not, there may be a consolation prize in knowing that multiple Sooners have been placed on preseason watch lists.

The biggest surprise of them all may be found in Blake Bell who was recently named to the Maxwell Award Watch List for the best player in all of college football. This is not intended as a knock against the projected starter at quarterback for Oklahoma but let's not get ahead of ourselves. While Bell has established himself as a quality runner with a solidified moniker, he has yet to start a game as a Sooner with much of his passing ability still in question by some.

Does the "Belldozer" possess that kind of potential? Absolutely! Yet, in college football one fact remains true, the one who sees, believes. There is much work to be done before the season starts and certainly before Bell can lay claim to the best college football player in the nation. Until then, here is a list of all the Sooners listed on a preseason watch list:
