OU Baseball | Former Sooners Ace, Jonathan Gray, Signs With The Colorado Rockies

USA TODAY Sports

Former Sooners ace and the No. 3 overall pick in last week's MLB Draft, Jonathan Gray, has reached an agreement with the Colorado Rockies.

Gray signed a $4.8 million deal with the Rockies according to multiple reports. While a club record, the nearly five million dollar deal is actually a little over $800,000 less the suggested slot value for where he was drafted.

The Oklahoma native was one of the most dominant pitchers at the college level this past season helping to lead his team to a Super Regional appearance before OU's season came to an end with a series loss to LSU.

Gray is expected to join the Rockies' minor league affiliate in Grand Junction.
