Fresh off a Big 12 Tournament championship, the Oklahoma baseball team will learn its NCAA Tournament future on Monday as the field will be announced on ESPNU at 11:00 a.m. (CST).
Here are the sixteen regional host sites:
Baton Rouge, La. | Alex Box Stadium | LSU (52-9) |
Blacksburg, Va. | English Field | Virginia Tech (38-20) |
Bloomington, Ind. | Bart Kaufman Field | Indiana (43-14) |
Chapel Hill, N.C. | Boshamer Stadium | North Carolina (52-8) |
Charlottesville, Va. | Davenport Field | Virginia (47-10) |
Columbia, S.C. | Carolina Stadium | South Carolina (39-18) |
Corvallis, Ore. | Goss Stadium | Oregon State (45-10) |
Eugene, Ore. | PK Park | Oregon (45-14) |
Fullerton, Calif. | Goodwin Field | Cal State Fullerton (48-8) |
Los Angeles, Calif. | Jackie Robinson Stadium | *UCLA (38-17) |
Louisville, Ky. | Jim Patterson Stadium | Louisville (46-10) |
Manhattan, Kan. | Tointon Family Stadium | Kansas State (41-17) |
Nashville, Tenn. | Hawkins Field | Vanderbilt (51-9) |
Raleigh, N.C. | Doak Field | North Carolina State (44-14) |
Starkville, Miss. | Dudy Noble Field | Mississippi State (43-17) |
Tallahassee, Fla. | Dick Howser Stadium | Florida State (44-15) |
Based on the available projections, there really seems to be no consensus with respect to the Sooners other than they are expected to receive a No. 2 seed in their respective regional.
Chasing Omaha has the Sooners in the Raleigh regional with host team North Carolina State as well as Seton Hall and South Dakota State. ESPN has the Sooners in the Bloomington regional with host team Indiana as well as Stanford and Valparaiso. While Baseball America has OU in the Eugene regional with host team Oregon as well as Bryant and Texas-San Antonio.
Would you prefer any one of those to the other? One thing we do know, with a front end rotation of Jonathan Gray and Dillon Overton there won't be too many host teams anxious to face this Oklahoma team. And an Oklahoma team that, based on this past weekend, could be getting hot offensively at just the right time.
We'll find out for sure Monday afternoon, so be sure to check back then as we'll update this post once the official announcement takes place.
