OU Football Recruiting | Sooners Pick Up Their Second 2014 Commit In A Matter Of Hours

No, this is not a typo. We brought you news earlier in the day about Oklahoma's sixth verbal commitment in 2014 offensive lineman Alex Dalton. Well, now just several hours later you can put number seven up on the board.

That tweet, along with this video, confirmed the commitment of Gulfport, Mississippi cornerback Tito Windham (VIDEO) who as we mentioned now becomes Oklahoma's seventh 2014 commit.

There isn't a ton of film or information available on Windham as a prospect, but expect that to change with news of his commitment. He is listed anywhere from 5'9" to 5'11" depending on where you look and between 174-to-181 pounds. From the little bit of film available, he does not appear to be a guy who is shy about coming up and delivering a blow (check out the 0:30 mark here). Also plays some wide receiver so he appears to have pretty good ball skills/recognition, routinely getting his head around to break up passes down the field.

It would be fair to say Windham is an under-the-radar guy at the moment only holding offers from Oklahoma (more on that in a minute) and Louisiana Lafayette. Speaking of that OU offer, he only received that on Wednesday so it took all of two days for him to make his commitment.

Now not to rain on the parade, but this could turn out to be a good news/bad news type situation. Allow us to explain. If he wasn't on other teams' radar before with an OU offer/commitment he certainly will be going forward. And while it's certainly not unheard of for a program like Oklahoma to go down into SEC territory and pluck out a stud defender. Now to be fair, we don't know if he's that type of player or anywhere close to it. But if he were to have a standout senior season you can rest assured other programs, SEC included, will come snooping around.

Admittedly, all of this is speculation on our part. And done so in a complimentary manner to Windham mind you, not an attempt to question his commitment on the very day he's made it public. As with any recruit, it's never truly over until that fax comes in on National Signing Day (February 5th, 2014 for those of you planning ahead).

Welcome to Sooner Nation, Tito!
