The Oklahoma Sooners lose their first and only 2014 basketball committment as Jacob Hammond has decided to reopen his recruiting process.

USA TODAY Sports

Lon Kruger has been excellent at finding and getting in early on recruits to fill the needs he currently has. The approach was no different for the Oklahoma Sooners as Jacob Hammond, a 6-10 PF, has been in contact with Kruger since before his sophomore season at a nearby Oklahoma City High School.

Now Hammond has transferred to Sunrise, the same school Buddy Hield graduated from, but retains interest from Oklahoma and the coaching staff. However, the story is in a constant state of flux.

"I still like OU, but as of recently, I have had a lot of interest from schools in the Big 12, Pac-12, Big Ten and schools on the West Coast so I want to make sure that I am making the right choices," - Jacob Hammond via ESPN

After committing in August of last year, Hammond has now reopened his recruiting process to other schools as he has officially decommitted from the Sooners. This drops the current list of committed recruits for 2014 back to zero.
