Your No. 1 ranked Oklahoma Softball team had another ho-hum type of weekend to close out their regular season. Needing two wins to secure a Big 12 Championship heading into Friday's series opener against in-state rival Oklahoma State, the Sooners dispatched OSU in a 10-1 run rule victory and followed that up with a 4-0 shutout win on Saturday.
Time to celebrate.

Saturday was also Senior Day for the four seniors on this Oklahoma squad who have played a significant role in one of the most successful seasons in OU athletics history.
Terrific day/season/career for these #Sooners seniors! @mgascoigne32, @laniricketts10, @shultsy18, @briturang twitter.com/SoonerSoftball…

And as if all of that wasn't enough, they were looking for a Bedlam sweep on Sunday and secured one in style. Keilani Ricketts threw her fifth no-hitter of the season going the distance and racking up seven strikeouts along the way. It no-hitter to close out the regular season was only fitting when you consider that she also threw one in OU's season opener. Like we said, going out in style.
Sophomore slugger, and arguably the best hitter in the sport of softball, Lauren Chamberlain went yard twice driving in four of OU's five runs.
With those two home runs, Chamberlain now stands at a ridiculous career total of 55 with (presumably) several more games yet to play this season. By the way, the NCAA record for career home runs is 90. Remember, Chamberlain is just a sophomore and already more than halfway to that number.
quite RT @jordan_esco: She good. RT @soonersoftball Home Run @lchamberlain44! Her second two-run HR of the game and the #Sooners lead 5-0!

This team is special and will go down in the annals of OU athletics as possibly one of the most dominant teams ever in their respective sport. Their regular season and winning the Big 12 title was just the first of several goals this team is looking to accomplish.
They will learn any future obstacles to their next goal of winning their regional, which they will be hosting in Norman as the No. 1 overall national seed, Sunday night during the NCAA Softball Selection Show. Until then, it's time for some more celebrating.
