The Sooners began the week with a #10 national ranking but a doubleheader loss to Arkansas-Little Rock on last Tuesday was sure to send them dropping in the rankings. Exactly how far they dropped would depend on how they fared against New Orleans. The Privateers posed no challenge at all to Oklahoma as the Sooners appeared to have resolved both their offensive and defensive issues. However, the extent of their improvement wouldn't be fully known until they traveled to Fayetteville to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks. Unfortunately that game won't happen now.
Officials made the decision of Monday afternoon to cancel the scheduled game between Oklahoma and Arkansas due to weather concerns. The cancellation means that the Sooners will not play again until Friday when then host Texas Tech in Big 12 play. The Red Raiders are currently tied with the Texas Longhorns for last place in the Big 12.
