The Privateers are 6-33 on the season and just 2-23 on the road. As a team they are batting .234 and are led by Jonathan Coco who is hitting .282 for the season, with two home runs and eleven RBI. Zacary Hawkins (.253 BA) leads the team with 19 RBI and three players are tied for the lead with two home runs apiece.
From the mound New Orleans has a team ERA of 6.69. Oklahoma will most likely face Alex Smith (3.77), Stone Speer (5.40) and Blake Prest (6.04) this weekend. The trio has a combined 4-17 record this season, with Smith leading the group in wins at 2-6 this year.
Oklahoma's going to come back with Jonathan Gray and Dillon Overton on Friday and Saturday but will most likely feature a new Sunday starter after Adam Choplick suffered his third consecutive bad start on Tuesday night. The front-runner for Sunday's start has to be Ralph Garza Jr who is 3-0 on the season with a 2.38 ERA.
In addition to finding a new Sunday starter, Oklahoma must also revive their bats to get runners around the bases and score them. The Sooners are batting .282 on the season with Matt Oberste and Max White being the only two players batting above .300 right now.
This post will serve as the game thread for tonight's first game of the series.
