UTA Mavericks Silence Oklahoma Bats

The Sooners traveled to Arlington with a team batting average of .311 and 74 RBI for the season. When ace pitcher Dillon Overton got into a little bit of a jam last Friday the Sooners were able to answer with their bats and win the first game, and then ultimately the series, against Pepperdine. That wouldn't be the case on Tuesday night against Texas-Arlington.

Oklahoma's pitchers gave up six runs off eleven hits and the Mavericks never trailed after taking a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. The Sooners never even challenged the Mavericks, waiting until they were down 5-0 to score their first and only run of the night. UTA would extend the lead back to five when they plated their final run in the sixth inning to make the final of 6-1.
