The Jayhawks come to Norman with a 2-1 conference record and 14-8 overall. Their two conference wins came against TCU, giving them a common opponent with the Sooners. Oklahoma swept TCU last weekend to open conference play. The Jayhawks are 3-4 in true road games this season.
As a team the Jayhawks are batting .303 and are lead by Michael Suiter who has a .423 average. Kansas on has three home runs to their credit this season but they've also knocked in 120 RBI. Jordan Dreiling (.356) leads the Jayhawks with 18 RBI.
The KU lineup will face an Oklahoma pitching staff that has been fairly dominant this season. Jonathan Gray has a 4-1 record with a 1.41 ERA. He has fanned a team high 51 batters this season. Dillon Overton has the best record of the pitching staff at 6-1. His ERA is 2.93 and he's struck out 39 batters. Redshirt freshman Adam Choplick seems to have secured the game three starting role. He's 3-0 on the season with a 2.88 ERA and 24 strikeouts.
Kansas will counter with Thomas Taylor, Frank Duncan and Wes Benjamin. Taylor is 2-0 on the season with a 1.35 ERA and 28 strikeouts. Benjamin has a team high 29 punch outs to go with his 4.59 ERA and 2-3 record. Duncan is 2-2 this season with a 3.82 ERA.
Oklahoma's Matt Oberste has been a one man wrecking crew that is sparking the offense. He's batting .476 with 7 homers and 34 RBI, all of those are team highs. That's not to say that the Sooners don't have other weapons from the plate though. Six different Oklahoma players have hit home runs this season and as a team OU has 140 RBI.
