The Sooners are taking to the road tonight where they are .500 (2-2) for the season. ORU is a familiar foe for Oklahoma as the Sooners as they accounted for two of the wins during this current ten-game streak. OU beat the Eagles (9-8) in 15 innings a week ago tonight and then pounded them 15-8 on the next night. A win today would secure a three-game season sweep for the Sooners.

ORU is batting .242 as a team, led by Nate Goro's .333 season batting average. Jose Trevino is batting .254 on the season and has 13 RBI and 3 home runs. Chris Williams (.230) is tied with Trevino for a team-high 3 long balls, and the Eagles have a total of eight homers on the season.

The story line for Oklahoma is Matt Oberste's assault on college baseball. He is batting .471 on the season with team highs in hits (48), runs (27), RBI (33), total bases (84) and home runs (7). In a strange twist of fate he set the all-time record at Oklahoma by hitting safely in 27 consecutive games only to be told after that a statistical glitch has him at just 26 games this season. The result has Oberste looking for the record tonight in Tulsa.

As a team the Sooners are batting .294 with a collective 16 home runs and 137 RBI. Neither team has announced starting pitchers for tonight.
