OU Baseball | Sooners Take The Series Over TCU With a 3-1 Win Saturday

Oklahoma starter Dillon Overton scattered seven hits over five and two thirds allowing just one run to earn his sixth win on the season and help extend the OU winning streak to nine game. With the 3-1 win on Saturday, the Sooners earned a series victory over their Big 12 Conference foe TCU and will look for a series sweep on Sunday.

Oklahoma pitchers Corey Copping and Jacob Evans each pitched an inning and two thirds of shutout baseball out of the bullpen, with Evans recording the save for his work in the game.

The other major storyline in the game was Matt Oberste and his program tying 27-game hitting streak. Well, Oberste now stands alone in the Oklahoma record books after his opposite field single in the sixth inning pushing his hit streak to a now 28 consecutive games.

In a bit of an odd stat, senior Max White recorded the only Oklahoma RBI in the game as two TCU errors contributed to OU's other two runs in the game.

As we mentioned above, the Sooners will go for the sweep Sunday afternoon in L. Dale Mitchell Park with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. (CST). The game can once again been seen on Fox Sports Southwest or on the radio at KREF Sports Talk 1400.
