Scoring came in spurts for both teams on Sunday with Notre Dame taking a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second. Oklahoma would respond with one run in the top of the third and then score three more in the top of the fifth to take a 4-2 lead. However, the Irish score two in the bottom half of the fifth to even it up. The two teams would each score another run late in the game, Oklahoma in the 8th and Notre Dame in the 9th, to send the game into extra innings.

In the bottom of the 11th pinch-hitter Mac Hudgins knocked in the game winning run for Notre Dame off the first pitch offered by sophomore Robert Tasin who had just come in to relieve Billy Waltrip who had taken the mound in the 8th with Oklahoma leading 5-4.

Starter Adam Choplick went five complete innings for Oklahoma, giving up four runs off six hits. Matt Oberste was able to keep his hitting streak alive with an RBI single in the fifth. Today's loss puts OU's season record at 12-4 and will no doubt result in a drop in the rankings.

The Sooners return home for a two-game series against New Mexico that starts on Tuesday.
