Late in the second half of the Oklahoma Sooners game against the TCU Horned Frogs, Buddy Hield would suffer a fracture in his foot. While fighting to get through a screen set by a defender, Hield would subsequently step on the foot of a TCU player and come up hobbling. His immediate reaction was to grab his foot as he limped off the floor.
The result was a fractured fifth metatarsal.
Throughout the season, Buddy had worked his way into a starting role as well as being one of the vocal leaders of this team. He was averaging 8.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game during this freshman campaign. The most impacting aspect that Hield brought to the floor was his energy along with making the game fun for those around him.
At this point in time, Hield is expected to miss the remainder of the season. We wish you the best and a speedy recovery Buddy!
