During the stint of the season, the Oklahoma Sooners experienced more than enough ups and downs especially at the quarterback position. One thing revealed itself in that none of the quarterbacks seemed capable of throwing a deep ball. All of those notions changed when LaColton Bester exercised his arm during the game against the Kansas Jayhawks. The pass led many fans to question, whether jokingly or not, why Bester had yet to take a snap under center.
The pass from Bester, a former quarterback now playing receiver, found a wide open Sterling Shepard as the Sooners took the lead 14-13 for the first time of the game pending a Michael Hunnicutt extra point attempt. It proved to be the remedy OU needed as they never looked back eventually winning 34-19.
