Its officially official. Junior college linebacker Devante Bond and tight end Isaac Ijalana are now Sooners. Their national letters of intent were received by the university this morning which means they'll be on campus for the spring Misterand able to participate in the football practices that come with it.
Ijalana is a three-star recruit and was recently featured here at CCM after recommitting to the Sooners last week. He was a standout at Pierce Community college and was recruited to Oklahoma by Jay Boulware.
Bond is a linebacker who is a blitz specialist. He has great speed , much in the mold of Eric Striker, and can get to the quarterback but also has the size (6-2/230) to be a run stopper as well. He produced 77 tackles and 17 quarterback sacks in 2012, as a sophomore, at Sierra Community College. Rivals also has him tabbed as a three-star recruit. He was recruited to Oklahoma by Tim Kish and turned down eight other offers (including Arizona State, Nebraska, West Virginia and Cal) to become a Sooner.
Ijalana and Bond are two of the four players currently committed to Oklahoma from the state of California.
