For the second time in the span of a couple weeks, Oklahoma head coach Lon Kruger has secured a 2014 verbal commitment from a highly regarded big man.
I am now committed to the University of Oklahoma ! 🏀🏀🏀

Thursday morning 6'7" power forward Dante Buford out of Jacksonville, Florida announced via his Twitter account that he had committed to the University of Oklahoma.
Depending on the recruiting service you prefer, Buford is either a Top 100 player nationally (per ESPN) or just outside that (per 247 & Rivals).
As a player, Buford is a very athletic and explosive guy who runs the floor exceptionally well. He excels finishing above/around the rim, but can also face up and with some regularity hit a 15-foot jumper. It may not be the most perfect of comps, but honestly his game is not all that dissimilar to a current Sooner in Cam Clark.
Buford becomes Oklahoma's third 2014 verbal commit joining 6'9" Khadeem Latttin and 6'10" Jamuni McNeace. It's clear Kruger and his staff recognized the glaring need for quality big men in this 2014 class and have made a concerted and successful effort to fill that need. Their reward, two Top 100 national players (per ESPN's rankings). Not too shabby.
