Texas announced on Saturday that they will be without two players, due to injury, when they play Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry

Update: Texas corner Sheroid is out for the season with a torn ACL.

The Texas Longhorns will literally come limping into the Cotton Bowl next Saturday to face Oklahoma. Winners of two in a row since conference play started, Texas announced on Saturday that quarterback David Ash and defensive back Sheroid Evans will not play in the game.

Ash is still suffering from the effects of a concussion he suffered in the Big Twelve opener against Kansas State. Backup Case McCoy, who actually has more passing attempts than Ash, will get the start instead. On the season McCoy is 62/102 for 574 yards and 2 touchdowns to no interceptions.

There's still no official word on receiver Mike Davis who was flagged for a blatant cheap shot against Iowa State on Thursday night. Davis dove for the knees of Cyclones defensive back Deon Broomfield well after the whistle.

Evans, a junior cornerback, won't be available against Oklahoma due to a knee injury he suffered in the Iowa State game.
