OU Women's Basketball | Sooners Get Season Sweep With Win Over The Longhorns

The Oklahoma women's basketball team secured a season sweep over their hated rival Texas with a 69-56 win Saturday afternoon in the Lloyd Noble Center. Just two weeks after beating the Longhorns in Austin, the Sooners repeated the feat and did so with relative ease.

Up just six at halftime, Oklahoma pulled away in the second half leading by as many as 19 points before coasting to the 13 point victory. OU's starting five powered the Sooners to victory scoring 63 of the team's 69 total points.

Oklahoma was lead in scoring once again by junior guard Aaryn Ellenberg's game high 22 points despite having her minutes somewhat limited due to foul trouble. Ellenberg was joined in double figures by teammates Joanna McFarland (15) and Nicole Griffin (10). While not in double figures with just seven points, point guard Morgan Hook filled up the box score adding nine assists, seven rebounds, and one steal.

While Texas is far from a powerhouse, it was a solid bounce back win for the Sooners who were coming off a 21 point loss to Iowa State earlier in the week. Saturday's win moved Oklahoma to 15-3 on the season and 5-1 in conference play.

The Sooners have a week off before returning to action next Saturday on the road against the No. 1 ranked Baylor Bears.
