On a normal weekend I would love to gloat in the fact that I'm leading the Friday Locks after the first week of the college football season. Unfortunately Rich, Jordan and myself went a collective 1-8 on the weekend so, despite the fact that I'm sitting on top of this little competition between the three of us, I'm not reading to do any boasting at all. Hopefully you're selections in the pick'em contest went much better.
Name | Last Week | Overall |
Matt | 1-2 | 1-2 |
Jordan | 0-3 | 0-3 |
Rich | 0-3 | 0-3 |
Check out week two and tell us your owl locks after the jump.
Rich
Kansas St. (-7.0) vs Miami - You have to like the fact Collin Klein has been tossing the ball a bit more. But, combined with his ability to run makes him very dangerous while allowing the Cats to control the clock. They shocked The U last season but will be the victors once again this year.
Arizona (+10) vs Oklahoma St. - Okie State is riding high after posting 84 points but they get a rude awakening this week on the road in a late game.
Notre Dame (-14.5) vs Purdue - I picked against the Irish last week so I'll try my luck for them this go around. I'm worried that .5 will come back to bite me!
Jordan
Iowa State (+3.5) vs Iowa - Big 12 represent, baby!
Air Force (+21.5) vs. Michigan - Tough game for UM w/ a quick turnaround. No expectation that Air Force wins, but I think they keep it within 3 TDs.
Oregon (-34.5) vs Fresno State - Only thing giving me even a second's worth of hesitation is Oregon's defense letting up, but I'll still lay the points.
Matt
Virginia (-10.5) vs Penn State - Penn State was shocked at home last week by Ohio. Now the Nittany Lions must travel to Virginia for their first road trip. I'll take the Cavilers to cover.
Michigan (-21.5) vs Air Force - With all due respect to the men and women of our armed forces, Air Force is a bad situation here. The Falcons scored an easy win over Idaho State last weekend and now must head to The Big House to face a Michigan team licking their wounds.
Texas State (+18) vs Texas Tech - This is a bit of a stretch but the Bobcats pulled off a shocker last week with an upset of Houston. I don't think they'll beat the Red Raiders outright but I'll take them and 18 points at home.
Make sure that your selections are turned in for the CCM Pick'em contest before games begin on Saturday. Also, you have to display your email address in your Yahoo profile in order for us to reach winners to claim their prizes.
