The voting coaches of the USA Today Coaches Poll are more kind to the Sooners than many Oklahoma fans. After failing to impress offensively in the first game of the season, Oklahoma was jumped by Oregon in the poll but still rounds out the top 5. After an impressive win over Michigan Alabama takes over as the new #1, followed by USC and then LSU.

Other Big XII schools checking in on the poll are West Virginia (#8), Texas (#15), Oklahoma State (#16), TCU (#17) and Kansas State (#20).
