Three years in a row! That's how many times Stanford had beaten USC and yet the majority of the college football world seemed absolutely shocked that it happened a fourth consecutive time on Saturday night. Don't put me in that group though. I was so confident in the Cardinal that they were one of the few picks that I got correct in our pick'em contest. The question now is, how far do I drop USC for losing when I knew it was going to happen?
Rank | Team | Comment |
#1 | Alabama | Even with Tyler Wilson Arkansas wouldn't have had a chance. |
#2 | LSU | Won 63-14 over Idaho. Looking more and more the part of the #2 team. |
#3 | Florida State | Dominated conference foe Wake Forest (52-0) but huge test with Clemson is next. |
#4 | West Virginia | I expected more than 42-12 over James Madison |
#5 | Oregon | With the fall of Troy the Ducks become the contender from the Pac 12 |
#6 | Oklahoma | Idle |
#7 | Georgia | Win over Missouri last weekend looks even more impressive now. |
#8 | South Carolina | Huge beneficiaries of USC and Michigan State losing. Not gonna lie, they could be over-rated |
#9 | Clemson | Can prove they belong in the Top 10 with a win over Florida State |
#10 | Stanford | The Cardinal earned their ranking this weekend but big games against Arizona and Notre Dame are looming in the near future. |
Clemson and Stanford also took advantage of Top 10 teams losing and earned their way in this week. Both will have to work to keep those spots though because there's a whole lot of nasty coming with their schedules over the next few weeks.
