Barry Switzer says he will sign a contract next week for a movie adaptation to his book "Bootlegger's Boy".— Matt Jones (@NWAMatt) September 12, 2012
Switzer says the director will be the same as "The Blind Side"; will take about 18 months to make.— Matt Jones (@NWAMatt) September 12, 2012
Oh. Heck. Yeah.
I'm pretty sure there was some talk about this awhile back, most of which (rightfully so) centering on who might play Switzer in the movie. So maybe this isn't necessarily news per se, but the fact that a contract could be close to being signed obviously increases the likelihood of this actually happening at least some.
I'm not a guy that frequents movies in the theatre all that often, but I can guarantee you if this ever does make it to the big screen I'll be making an exception to that rule.
Feel free to offer up any casting suggestions you may have in the comments. I'm sure nothing can go wrong with that, right?
