Ben Habern's playing career is officially over. The stalwart center of the OU offensive line has decided to quit playing due to lingering medical issues.
"Our coaching staff knows this was a difficult decision for Ben," Stoops said. "Ben has been a consummate leader for our team, both on and off the field. We appreciate the toughness that Ben has displayed, and we wish him the very best as he completes his education at OU."

Ben Habern was the leader of the OU line for the last two years, and he was easily the driving force when he was on the field. However, as many OU fans know, his health was always a crapshoot. To be fair, I think this was a smart decision on his part. At some point, you have to realize that there is life after football, and if your body is destroyed before you're 25, you won't enjoy that life.
Thanks for the memories, Ben. Sooner Nation wishes you well, and I think I speak for everyone when I say that we have faith that you will do great things moving forward from here.
