A fantastic update came our way, as you can see above, courtesy of SoonerScoop and the status of Sooners backup center, Austin Woods. As many of you probably know, Woods has been battling cancer now for a couple months. So the news of this possible clearance can only be taken as a positive sign that the treatments have (and will continue to be) been successful.
Just terrific news for Woods and his family. I'm sure I don't have to tell you this isn't about football, it's about the health of Austin. So to hear this kind of news is a very positive sign.
(Ed. note - Not to take away from this news, but because I've had a number of people ask me about it. Sooners LB P.L. Lindley tweeted last night that his teammate, offensive lineman Nila Kasitati, surgical procedure went as expected and that he was fine. So, again, outstanding news and I just wanted to put that out there for anyone who might not have heard it already.)
