The Sooners have been loaded with talent and that talent is getting some recognition this season. As the preseason watchlists have come out, a slew of Sooners have been found. Today is no different as Oklahoma has added yet another player to another list. However, this is one that was fairly unexpected for many and is a position of concern.
On Monday, R.J. Washington's name popped up on the Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year Award watchlist. Considering the current situation at DE for OU, this is not a bad thing. Washington has shown much promise throughout his career, but it all could come to a head this season.
Hailing from Ft. Worth, TX, R.J. played in all 13 games last season and has recorded 23 tackles along with 5.5 sacks for his career. Much of the numbers have been hindered for him due to the fact that he has been playing behind now NFL players, Ronnell Lewis and Frank Alexander.
To date, 11 Sooners have now been mentioned on 14 different watchlists.
