Army enters the Charlottesville Regional with the best overall record at 41-13. However, their RPI ranking of 272 is the reason for their #4 seed. The Black Nights won the Patriot League tournament and enter the NCAA as an automatic qualifier to make their first appearance since 2009.
Much like Appalachian State, Army has some guys who can give the ball a ride. Kevin McKague leads five Army batters hitting .300 or better. His .389 batting average is the best on the team as well are his 44 RBI. He's tied with JT Watkins for the team high in home runs at five each. Watkins is hitting .318 and has 31 RBI. Harold Earls (.347), Zach Price (.324) and Andrew Johnson (.302) are the remaining Army batters hitting better than .300.
