For the second time in back-to-back nights the Oklahoma Sooners saw a lead slip away late in the game against Texas A&M. Now the Aggies hold a 2-0 series advantage and will be going for the sweep on Saturday.

Friday night's game was a pitcher's dual through the first four innings but things broke open in the fifth giving the appearance that Oklahoma had an advantage. However, like Thursday night, the Sooners wouldn't be able to hang on and Texas A&M was able to sow up the series.

Big XII Friday Night Scoreboard

Texas A&M 5, Oklahoma 2

Kansas State 6, Sacred Heart 1

Oklahoma State 7, Kansas 6

Baylor 5, Missouri 3

The Sooners struck first when Tanner Toal scored on a Garrett Carey single to left field. They doubled the lead to 2-0 when Carey scored on an Erik Ross single. However, the Sooners would have also had three runs scored in the inning had Cody Reine not been gunned down while leading off third base to continue what has been a season long struggle for OU on the base paths. As it stood, those would be the only two runs Oklahoma would plate all night.

The Aggies struck for one in the bottom half of the fifth when Troy Stein scored on a wild pitch but the majority of their damage came in the seventh and eighth innings when they score two runs in each to get to the final score of 5-2. Probably the most frustrating part of the evening came in response to A&M's run scored in the fifth.

OU would only send twelve more batters to the plate the rest night because they would go three-up/three-down from the sixth through the ninth innings. The Aggies will go for a sweep of the Sooners Saturday afternoon at 3:30.
