The news of Max Browne's announcement for USC Wednesday night did not come as much of a surprise despite the wishful thinking of Oklahoma fans. The talk for several days has been that Browne choosing USC was a foregone conclusion and the top quarterback in the 2013 class made it official Wednesday night.
In spite of the disappointing news for OU fans, the Sooners put up a good fight for the elite national prospect and while some will choose to focus on finishing second seemingly yet again the fact that Oklahoma made it the fight that it was should go a long way towards the work that the OU staff put in with Browne.
And it deserves to be said that Browne handled his business with nothing but class, so there should be no hard feelings on the part of Oklahoma fans. Congrats to the young man on his decision and best of luck to him in the future (barring any potential OU vs. USC match up down the road of course).
So, as the Sooners are forced to move on, you can find out here who they might be targeting now that Browne is off the table.
