Before Sunday's game three in the series against Alabama State very few fans had heard of Sooner pitcher Drew Krittenbrink. After the game ended Oklahoma's sophomore hurler from Okarche was mobbed by fans seeking autographs and congratulations from teammates were pouring in.

Krittenbrink, a walk-on, earned his first career victory as a Sooner by pitching 7.2 innings of shutout baseball. Backed by a stellar defense he surrendered just three hits from the thirty-two batters he faced on Sunday. He kept Alabama State at bay for most of the afternoon and didn't face more than four batters in an inning until the sixth.

Oklahoma State 7, Texas Tech 1

Meanwhile Oklahoma struck for two runs in the bottom of the second by scoring Hunter Lockwood and Evan Mistich on a Tanner Toal single to left field. The Sooners were back on the board again the next inning, going up 3-0 when Max White sent his first home run of the season over the right field wall.

OU put the game away in the bottom of the seventh when they plated four runs to build a 7-0 lead. Toal started the inning off with a single to right field and then was moved to second on an Erik Ross single. Jack Mayfield then loaded the bases with Oklahoma's third single in a row. Max White took advantage of the bases loaded situation by delivering a fourth consecutive single, scoring Toal and Ross. White would then score himself on an Evan Mistich single but the highlight of the inning was a double steal in which Mistich stole second base and Cody Reine stole home to provide the final score of the game.

Oklahoma has now won eight games in a row and will be looking to continue their streak into next week where they have two mid-week games. The Sooners will be in Stillwater Tuesday night for a non-conference match-up with Oklahoma State and then will return to Norman on Wednesday night for a rematch against Dallas Baptist. OU will throw Damien Magnifico on Tuesday night and Dillon Overton on Wednesday.
