Oklahoma's Jordan John is 2-0 this weekend against Missouri

Oklahoma and Missouri were neck and neck through most of the day today until the game got to the sixth inning. The Sooners plated four runs in that frame to distance themselves from the Tigers and win the series and set themselves up to gain their first conference sweep tomorrow.

Missouri put two runs up in the top of the first when Dane Opel and Mach Conner crossed the plate on an Eric Garcia single. The Sooners matched the two runs in the bottom half of the inning by scoring Erik Ross and Jack Mayfield. Then Oklahoma went up 4-2 in the bottom of the second when Ross and Mayfield scored again. The Tigers wouldn't stay down long though as they would score twice in the third off of Brannon Champagne and Conner Mach singles.

Texas A&M 6, Kansas 4

Texas 5, Oklahoma State 0

Oklahoma 8, Missouri 4

The score would remain tied at 4-4 until the sixth inning when the Sooners went to work on Missouri pitchers Blake Holovach and John Miles. The inning started off with Mayfield flying out and Caleb Bushyhead grounding out. However, Max White drew a walk to bring up Hunter Lockwood who sent a two-run bomb over the left field wall to put the Sooners up 6-4.

Almost as if they were asking for an encore, Missouri walked Cody Reine which brought up Evan Mistich who sent a two-run blast almost to the exact identical spot of Lockwood. The second shot broke the game open for the Sooners by doubling up the Tigers 8-4 and allowing Oklahoma to cruise to the win.

Jordan John picked up his second win in as many nights over the Tigers by going seven innings. He was responsible for all four of Missouri's runs that were scored on eight hits. He also struck out four batters. Drew Harrison pitched the final two innings in relief in which he allowed no runs and no hits.

The final game in the series is scheduled for 1:00 tomorrow afternoon.
