Jarion Henry is a player that many fans were excited about seeing in the Crimson and Cream. Jarion is a the son of Skeeter Henry who played two seasons for the Sooners from 1988-1990. Yes, this is were the famed "Skeeter Meter" draws it's name. Basketball certainly courses through this family's veins.
Originally Jarion, had committed to be a New Mexico Lobo. However, he never made it onto the court due to being unable to qualify academically. After vowing to never let that happen again, Jarion signed with the Sooners under Lon Kruger in November of 2011 with the hope of being on campus in January of 2012. Regardless of what happened at that point, his father, Skeeter, was confident he would end up at his alma mater, The University of Oklahoma.
Now, just over three months removed from Jarion's signing with the Sooners, it has been confirmed that he will not be in Norman this next season. After the Big XII Tournament loss, Lon Kruger went on record saying that Jarion will be attending a junior college instead of OU this fall.
