It was only natural following the news of now former Kansas State head basketball coach Frank Martin's decision to leave that Lon Kruger's name would come up. Coach Kruger obviously has a well documented history with the Wildcats and it would be an easy connection for K-State fans to make. However, Kruger was very quick to put to rest any potential talk regarding himself and the now open head coach position in Manhattan.
OU coach Lon Kruger shoots down rumors linking him to K-State. "Not in any way shape or form. Super excited about the potential here."

Kruger on potential KState interest: "Certainly with no disrespect to John (Currie) or their program, but no. Not in any way, shape or form"

As OU fans would have come to expect in getting to know Coach Kruger over this past year, he handled the talk with humility and being complimentary of his almamater.
Kruger did however have a suggestion for Kansas State as to who he thought would be a good fit for the position.
Kruger did say current OU assistant Steve Henson would be an excellent choice for K-State.

Like Kruger, Henson is also a former Wildcat and has been on staff with Kruger at just about every stop the well traveled head coach has made.
Thankfully, OU fans can breathe easy knowing Coach Kruger is here to stay. And we are all just as excited as he is about the future of this basketball program!
