Shavon "Suga" Coleman Has 3 Schools In Sight Including Oklahoma

While much of the focus has been out on the NCAA Tournament, not all coaches have their focus their right now. Those who were sent home early or failed to reach a post-season tournament have set their sights on how to get there. Now, the game has begun of who can solve the puzzle first. Lon Kruger has certainly got his sights on it and is going after yet another highly ranked JUCO player in Shavon Coleman, a native of Louisiana and former Thibodaux star.

Out of high school, 6-6 185lb Shavon Coleman was a top 100 recruit with a ton of raw talent. However, due to some on goings he ended up at Howard College after originally signing with Louisiana Monroe. This certainly was not the plan Coleman had when he first set out to play on the Division-I level.

Although, the game has not thrown everything his way, Coleman has made the best of the hand he has been dealt. After averaging 14.6 points and 6.8 rebounds a game, the season ended in a regional final of the NJCAA Tournament. With the season over, a decision is now glaring at Coleman and it is coming at him fast.

Coleman had this to say about his upcoming decision

"I'm looking for a spot where I feel comfortable and have chance to play and be successful," Coleman said recently. "I love playing the game, but I also want to get my education. I want go where I can compete to start right away and have an impact on the team." - Scout.com

The chance to be successful not only on the court but also in the classroom has manifested itself in the form of three schools who could all use the help: Oklahoma, LSU, and Texas Tech. When coming out of high school, Coleman was recruited by Jeff Capel and had all but signed to play there when everything changed.

Could Lon Kruger and company seal the deal this time around? Shavon Coleman has already made a visit to LSU and plans to visit Oklahoma as well as Texas Tech in the near future before he signs on the dotted line late in the process.
