No matter which approach you take to checking out the latest week in Big XII baseball there's one story line that sticks out above any other...the Texas Longhorns. Texas Tech, that's right Texas Tech, has the best record in the conference and Oklahoma State went from having a horrible start to the season last weekend (shutout twice in three losses to Cal Poly) but it all pales in comparison to the current streak Texas baseball is on.

Team Overall Record What Happened Last Week
Baylor 6-2 The busiest team in the Big XII last week, Baylor beat TCU 7-1 on Tuesday and then Texas State 5-1 on Wednesday before falling twice to UCLA over the weekend. Outfielder Logan Vick and pitcher Trent Blank were both given conference honors for last week.
Kansas 5-2 Had two wins over Mississippi Valley State (9-2, 14-1) sandwiched in between two losses to Mississippi State (1-0, 3-1) while playing in Starkville, Miss.
Kansas State 3-4 Took two of three games against San Diego State on Thursday (7-2W), Friday (15-1L) and Saturday (15-7W) before dropping a game to Oregon State (13-5) on Sunday.
Missouri 2-4 Swept by San Francisco (3-1, 3-1, 6-0) over the weekend.
Oklahoma 4-2 Swept Hartford (9-6, 10-5, 8-3) over the weekend.
Oklahoma State 5-3 The Cowboys currently share the longest winning streak in the Big XII (5 games) with Texas Tech. Last week OSU beat Dallas Baptist (9-7) on Tuesday and Saint Gregory's (11-0) on Wednesday before sweeping Bowling Green (7-2, 13-3, 6-2) over the weekend. OSU pitcher Chase Stevens was awarded as The Newcomer of the Week in the Big XII for his performance last week.
Texas 2-5 Not only do the Longhorns have the worst baseball record in the Big XII they also are streaking on a conference high five losses in a row, including an 0-4 record last week. Texas lost to UT Arlington (7-5) on Tuesday before being swept by Stanford (7-2, 6-2, 15-1) over the weekend.
Texas A&M 6-1 Beat Stephen F. Austin (4-3) on Tuesday before taking two of three (3-2W, 7-3L, 8-2W) from Holy Cross over the weekend.
Texas Tech 8-1 Went 5-0 over the weekend in The Brooks Wallace Memorial Classic (In Lubbock) with wins over Saint John's (4-1, 5-2) and Northern Illinois (8-5, 10-4, 3-2).
