The Longhorns might not have got many commitments on the actual day of their first Junior Day, but the days that followed have produced a number of substantial additions. Today being no exception with the word that five star quarterback Tyrone Swoopes confirmed to multiple recruiting services that he has officially given his verbal commitment to Texas.
The bad news started earlier in the week when WR Jake Oliver committed to the Horns then followed a couple days later as DT/OL A'Shawn Robinson did the same. Now with Swoopes, the Sooners have lost three highly touted 2013 recruits they had targeted early in the recruiting process (though, technically I believe one Oliver had an official offer).
Such is life in the game of recruiting, especially when you're dealing with in-state prospects in the football rich state of Texas. Not too many get away from the Horns which after the last couple of years they've had on the field is somewhat baffling, but even if begrudgingly you have to give them credit for the obviously impressive recruiting machine they've built down in Austin.
I'd expect several here to be disappointed in this news, but there are plenty of other talented recruits out there so it's just time to move on.
