OU Football 2012 - Sooners Offensive Tackle, Daryl Williams, Out For Cotton Bowl

SoonerSports.com

Oklahoma head football coach, Bob Stoops, confirmed on Friday that offensive tackle Daryl Williams would not be available for the team's bowl game as he continues to recover from a right knee injury. Williams missed the final two games of the regular season with the same injury.

While Williams had started in every game this season prior to his injury, the Sooners rotate their offensive tackles in and out enough that the loss should not be a devastating one. Tyrus Thompson will continue his role at right tackle while Lane Johnson will remain on the left side. However, if either Thompson or Johnson were to go down with in injury during the bowl game the only known option behind them would be redshirt freshman Derek Farniok.

Farniok did receive some playing time during the regular season, but he is far from a known quantity at the tackle position.
