Oklahoma picked up their second Class of 2013 offensive tackle in a matter of hours Wednesday night when Christian Daimler announced via his Twitter account that he had committed to the Sooners.
Officially committed to play football at the University Of Oklahoma! #BoomerSooner

Daimler's commitment came a bit out of left field considering he had only earlier in the day declared, also on Twitter, that he had decommitted from Arizona State. Evidently, Oklahoma offered him the night before and when you read this quote Daimler gave the Rivals ASU site site knowing what we do now, it's pretty telling.
"I just felt like there are better opportunities coming soon that I want to take advantage of," Daimler said. "It's not that I don't think I can be successful at ASU but I just think I can be more successful elsewhere and it would be better for me."
This also give Oklahoma another Houston area commitment, which as part of the state they have made a concerted effort to focus on after not having much success there in years past.
Daimler is another very athletic offensive lineman agility and footwork to maneuver through traffic. At 6'6" 270 pounds, he still has some growing to do but appears to have the frame capable of supporting it fairly easily. He has a big wing span which should help him keep blockers at a distance at the next level. Will likely need a redshirt year to bulk up and refine his technique, but that shouldn't be an issue given the depth Oklahoma has returning at offensive tackle.
Prior to his Arizona State commitment, Daimler held offers from Colorado, Colorado State, UNLV, and Washington State.
Welcome to Sooner Nation, Christian!
