An Oklahoma team with very little depth to begin with has been dealt a significant blow with yet another season ending injury. News broke Thursday afternoon that true freshman, Maddie Manning, suffered a torn ACL in practice on Wednesday and will now be forced to miss the remainder of this season. Which, injury aside, is a real shame for a young player who had really come on as of late playing her best basketball of the early season in Oklahoma's recent tournament appearance out in Hawaii.
Oklahoma had previously lost Kaylon Williams for the season after she suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon just two practices into the preseason.
Sherri Coale's bench was already shallow, with only 10 scholarship players (less Williams and Lyndsey Cloman who was forced to retire with back problems), will now have one less option. It's crazy to think about this OU squad not even having the ability to scrimmage five-on-five in practices following the loss of Manning.
