Friday Locks: We All Like West Virginia

All three of us are going with the Mountaineers this weekend, which perhaps could be the kiss of death.

Justin K. Aller

We are getting closer and closer to announcing Jordan as our Friday Locks champion for the third consecutive season. One of these days Rich and I will figure this out and give him a real run for his money. Until then, the best we can do is offer comic relief with our picks.

Here's what we've got on tap for picks this week. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Jordan

Ohio State (-3.5) vs. Michigan - Turn this game on Saturday and explain to me if it's even remotely comparable to what we see every October in the Cotton Bowl. This is the game most commonly referenced, aside from the RRSO, as the "greatest rivalry in CFB" and those people could not be more wrong. All of which of course has nothing to do with me picking tOSU, but I don't care because it needed to be said.

West Virginia (-1) at Iowa State - I'm sure Paul Rhoads will make me regret this pick, but I couldn't help myself coming away thoroughly impressed with the Mountaineers after last week.

Oregon (-9.5) at Oregon State - If nothing else, they have to send Chip Kelly off to the NFL with a win against their in-state rival, right?

Matt

LSU (-12) at Arkansas - Pride is all that Arkansas has left to play for and that won't be enough against one of the top defenses in the SEC.

West Virginia (-1) at Iowa State - We're all in on this game and we're all expecting the Mountaineers to become bowl eligible.

Baylor (-3.5) at Texas Tech - I kind of feel like the wheels are coming off on Tuberville, and his team. They are limping into this game and will limp, even more severely, out of it. In my opinion.

Rich

LSU (-12.0) vs Arkansas - In short, Arkansas is that bad.

Notre Dame (-6.0) vs USC - The Trojans have shown that they are capable of being caught off guard. Without Matt Barkley, the USC offense will be hampered a bit as the cocky backup Max Wittek has only thrown nine passes. The ND defense is for real and should desire to send a message while rattling the inexperienced Wittek.

West Virginia (-1.0) vs Iowa St. - WVU will be looking to become bowl eligible in Ames. The skid they have been on will be broken as Tavon Austin leads this explosive offense in multiple facets.
