Friday Locks – A Big Pile of Stink!

The only redeeming quality about our weekly picks is the entertainment value that they bring.

Can Arizona pull off another upset?

It's a good thing that we have Jordan with us. He's the only thing keeping any semblance of respectability on our Friday Locks. Once again, Jordan produced a winning record last weekend and once again, Richard and I produced a big pile of stink. Makes you curious about how bad we can mess things up this week, huh?

Oregon (-8) at USC - I'll take the Ducks to cover until I see a team that can slow down their ridiculous offense. As far as I'm concerned, USC is not that team.

West Virginia (-6.5) vs. TCU - Again, that magic little half point is the difference for me here. An angry WVU team, at home, coming off a bye week and stewing over that K-State beatdown equals a win in my opinion.

Clemson (-13) at Duke - Duke isn't the cellar dwellar ACC whipping bag any longer, but I still think Clemson can cover this number. Though that Brent Venables led defense will probably make me sweat it out.

Matt

Mississippi State (+7) vs. Texas A&M - I see these two teams as being very similar and the fact that the Bulldogs are playing at home puts them in a situation to pull the upset.

Alabama (-9) at LSU - Both teams have outstanding defenses but there's only going to be one championship caliber offense on the field. Advantage, Tide.

Arizona (+3) @ UCLA - There's a chance that the Wildcats could have a bit of a letdown, after last weekend's upset of UCS, but I believe there's even a greater chance that Arizona pulls the upset,

Rich

Kansas St. (-9.5) vs Oklahoma St. - Clock control is key here but I'm not giving the Cowboy's defense a shot against Heisman Front-runner Collin Klein. Not only has Klein proved he has the capability to run the ball, he can also throw the ball better than what he showed last season. This is a mixture of disaster for OSU as they travel to Manhattan.

LSU (+9.5) vs Alabama - In a gutsy call, I'm taking the points in this one. Bama has shown that they are weak against speed coming off the edge while mixing in different looks as Western Kentucky came up with six sacks on A.J. McCarron. LSU will present a big challenge in the pass rush. Alabama wins this one but LSU takes 'em the distance.

Texas Tech (-7.5) vs Texas - Tech has come up as a bit of surprise while the Longhorns have found themselves spiraling downward. This game is in Lubbock and 7.5 is a narrow margin considering what Texas has lost in the pass rush along with what they have put up defensively as a team.
