Bob Stoops alluded to it earlier in the day during his weekly press conference, but confirmed the fears of many following Monday's practice. The Sooners top reserve offensive lineman, Nila Kasitati, has been lost for the season after suffering a torn ACL last Saturday against Texas Tech.
It's a crushing blow for an OU offensive line that has already suffered massive losses and is now left with virtually zero depth behind the starting five. It's a loss that may not have substantial repercussions Saturday against Texas (Sucks!), but over the course of the rest of the season it's a significant loss.
You feel for any player who suffers a season ending injury, but especially so when you take into account Kasitati underwent heart surgery earlier this year. He also was forced to redshirt last season after suffering a shoulder injury, so barring a medical redshirt 2012 is now pretty much a waste.
Not exactly the news you want as we start Hate Week. Get well soon, Nila!
