Friday Locks: Just Having Fun And Picking Winners

Is this the weekend that Kansas State falls? At least one of us thinks so.

Last week was such a good week for us that even Rich had a winning weekend. I kid, I kid. Seriously though, we all went 2-1 for the weekend which put me one game over .500, evened Jordan up and made Rich...well not look as bad as he did the week before.

This week's picks features some Big 12 schools along with a few national games and a public service announcement from Mr. DeCray. Enjoy!

Matt

Duke (+27.5) at Florida State - I don't believe there's any way that the Blue Devils pull the upset here but I do like them to stay within four touchdowns of the Seminoles.

Texas Tech (+7) at Kansas State - We discussed this game, in detail, on the podcast last night. Tech has been exceptional against one dimensional offenses this season and Sooner Magic is calling for the Wildcats to fall. Who's excited about a three-way tie atop the Big 12?

Mississippi State (+24) at Alabama - Yes, I do realize that all three of my picks are road dogs but to use the phrase that all the kids are saying these days, "YOLO!" Mississippi State is quietly putting together a nice season and while they're not yet up to Alabama's level, I do believe they can keep this game fairly interesting.

Jordan

Penn State (Pick) vs. Ohio State - tOSU has been flirting with a loss for weeks. Now with a banged up Braxton Miller, I think this Penn State team can pull the upset at home.

K-State (-7) vs. Texas Tech - I don't know whether to call this a popular upset pick or just wishful thinking on the part of everyone else in the Big 12, but I'm just not sure I see Tech going into the Little Apple and coming out victorious. Give me Optimus Klein and the Cats to cover.

Northwestern (-6) vs. Iowa - They've been good to in the past so I'm sticking with them here at home against an awful Iowa team.

Rich

Before we get into my locks, I simply want to remind everyone that these picks will cause a hiccup in your standings if you are hoping to get some help from this once rising star. So, scroll on down using your mouse and save yourself not only some time but also a few brain cells. Happy Picking fellow CCM faithful!

Baylor (+2.5) vs Iowa St. - Nick Florence leads the conference in passing yards per game and will continue to put up big numbers through the air. I'm just not confident that Iowa St. can keep pace as this game will turn into a barn burner while the Bears continue to fail at fielding an adequate defense.

Duke (+27.5) vs Florida St. - The Seminoles are good but I don't think they will win by a 28 point margin against a surprise Blue Devils team. Basketball isn't the only thing to talk about in Durham this year.

Louisville (-3.5) vs Cincinnati - In a rivalry game anything can happen, just not this time around. 3.5 points is a slim margin of victory that I think (there I go again thinking which usually means trouble) the Cardinals can cover.
