While I and many others here could care less, ESPN College Gameday confirmed Saturday night they will be in Norman next weekend for the showdown between two of the most storied programs in the country. As hard as it may be for some of us to believe, there are plenty of people out there who will be excited about it and the powers that be at Oklahoma will certainly like the additional exposure.
Via SoonerSports.com:
Now in its 26th year, ESPN's College GameDay has been on site for 27 Oklahoma games since 1995, including last season's 55-17 win over Texas in Dallas on Oct. 8. Saturday will mark the seventh appearance of College GameDay in Norman. The Sooners are 5-1 in those previous six home games, with the most recent appearance by the show coming prior to a 61-41 victory vs. Oklahoma State on Nov. 29, 2008.
Only Florida (34) and Ohio State (30) have been featured more times on the show than OU. The Sooners have posted a 19-8 (.704) record, giving OU the third-best win total and fourth-best win percentage in the nation in games following a College GameDay broadcast (minimum 15 contests).
