Friday Locks: One Of Us Is Breaking A Cardinal Rule

All in all we had a pretty good week last week on our Friday Locks. As a group we went 5-1 with the loss being OnlyOne's pick of Penn St. to be Rutgers by more than 6.5. JTE is also now 4-0 over the last two weeks after starting the season off 0-2. This week we've got a fresh set of picks among the games selected for the official CCM Pick'em Contest sponsored by Sooner Legends Inn & Suites. However, one of us is breaking a cardinal rule by selecting the Sooners as one of the locks.

Last Week: 2-0

 Season 4-2

Miami     (-12.5) vs.                K-State

Hate to go against a fellow conference member, but the K-State offense has shown me nothing to make me believe they can cover that number against a Miami team that looked very good last week against tOSU.   Illinois         (-12.5)      vs.             W. Michigan        I'll be honest.  I know nothing about this game, but Illinois has to be able to beat a directional Michigan school by at least 13 points right?

Last Week: 1-1  Season: 4-2

Nebraska vs. Wyoming (+23.5)

Huge trap game here for Nebraska as they travel to #6 Wisconsin the following week. Nebraska will either pull up to avoid injury before conference play or get caught in the trap and fails to cover the spread.

Oklahoma (-21) vs. Missouri

I'll be the first of the crew to take OU in a lock. If last Saturday was any indicator of just how good this defense is, I think any team struggles against OU. Missouri is coming in for what is a "revenge" game and I don't expect the defense to go easy. Landry has at least 2 TD passes in the first half and Whaley adds one on the ground. A great cushion the Mizzou offense can't overcome.

Last Week: 2-0 Season: 3-3
Central Florida (+2.5) at BYU Count me in as a person who is totally unimpressed with BYU this season. UCF will keep this game tight and may win outright.   UCLA (+5) at Oregon State The two worst teams in the Pac-10 square off in this one. The Bruins are really bad but even at that I don't think they're five points worse than Oregon State, even on the road.
