Sooner Sound Off: Tulsa Game Day Links

It's the day before Game Day and there is nothing like your weekly link dump. We have waited in anticipation for months upon months for the season to be upon us and the wait is nearly over. However, there are a few stories here and there leading up to the Oklahoma Sooners facing the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Without any further ado, let's get to 'em. This way you can waste more of your day at work although I do not condone or advise you to do so.

As has already been mentioned, there are a few former and current Sooners who have offspring or siblings that will be on the opposite side of the field tomorrow. JC Watts has the opportunity to watch his son Trey Watts play where he became a Sooner great. But, we will also see Tress Way go toe-to-toe with younger brother Cole Way.

G.J. Kinne will be a player to watch on the Tulsa Offense. What he brings is going to be nearly irreplaceable for the Golden Hurricane. However, there is much more to Kinne than just his attitude. Here is a look at why he has every right to be this cocky and brash QB.

Bill Blankenship takes over at TU and has appeared to be on the right track. But, you would think that any coach going against OU this year may get a little flustered under the pressure of playing the nation's top team. That is not the case for Blankenship as it is just not his personality.

Toby Rowland will be taking over as the new Voice of the Sooners in his first live game. He is replacing longtime announcer Bob Barry Sr. and fans are not exactly sure what to expect (I for one hope there are no "hands the ball off to Murray, up the left side...incomplete pass" type plays over the air).

15 years ago, Tulsa beat Oklahoma in Norman. Last season, the Golden Hurricane took a trip to Notre Dame and escaped with a win. They also made a trip to Hawaii where they also came out with another win. Tulsa has had road success in the past but one of the toughest things ahead for TU is believing that there is hope considering Stoops record at home.

The suspension of Damaris Johnson has got to have The Golden Hurricane unfocused. Blankenship talks about the Oklahoma game as well as regaining focus in a video here.
