Houston Regional

Oklahoma takes the #2 seed in the Ft. Worth Regional and will play #3 Dallas Baptist on Friday, June 3rd. An interesting 2 & 3 matchup considering the teams have met once before during the regular season, a game in which the Sooners fell 3-2 to DBU at Mitchell Park. This will be a revenge game of sorts and Oklahoma is looking to take the next step on the Road to Omaha. Along with DBU comes another familiar foe in the #1 seed and host, TCU. Oklahoma played a 1 & 1 with TCU taking both games during the regular season. The odd man out is #4 Oral Roberts even though they are located inside the state of Oklahoma.
In the Houston Regional, the region that will meet the Ft. Worth region for the Super Regional, there is another familiar foe in Baylor. Baylor ended Oklahoma's late 9-game winning streak in the last series of the regular season. While Oklahoma should have taken the series, they instead seemed unlike their normal self. Not a good way to head into the post-season especially in a season with expectations of the CWS. While Rice is the #1 seed in Houston, they are good at everything but not great at any one thing and I'm a little surprised that they got a #1 seed. But on the other hand I don't know how Baylor got a #2 seed and if it was between Baylor and Rice, Rice would get the nod. I would expect Oklahoma to have a fairly easy trip making it into the CWS assuming they focus and get the bats going early.
