Look for some things to be different this year on the NCAA Tournament's opening weekend thanks to a few changes. First off, there will be staggered starts every thirty minutes beginning at 11:00 AM and going until Kansas State and Utah State tip off at 8:55 PM (CST). The second thing that'll be different is that CBS no longer dominates the coverage. Instead now you'll have to train you fingers to flip the remote from CBS to truTV, to TBS, to TNT. Yeah that could get a bit confusing.
Noon -- CBS -- West Virginia (5) vs. Clemson (12)
12:30 PM -- truTV-- Butler (8) vs. Old Dominion (9)
1:30 PM -- TBS -- Louisville (4) vs. Morehead State (13)
2:00 PM -- TNT -- Temple (7) vs. Penn State (10)
The early session gives us an #8 vs. #9 in Butler/Old Dominion where I like Butler to advance but I also thing the West Virginia/Clemson game could be interesting to watch as well.
2:30 PM (appx.) -- CBS -- Kentucky (4) vs. Princeton (13)
3:00 PM (appx.) -- truTV -- Pittsburgh (1) vs. UNC-Asheville (16)
4:00 PM (appx.) -- TBS -- Vanderbilt (5) vs. Richmond (12)
4:30 PM (appx.) -- TNT -- San Diego State (2) vs. Northern Colorado (15)
The afternoon session gives us our first look at a #1 seed when Pitt takes on UNC-Asheville but I'm more interesting in seeing how San Diego State represents themselves as a #2 seed.
6:45 PM -- TBS -- Florida (2) vs. UC Santa Barbara (15)
7:00 PM -- CBS -- BYU (3) vs. Wofford (14)
7:15 PM -- truTV -- Wisconsin (4) vs. Belmont (13)
7:15 PM -- TNT -- Connecticut (3) vs. Bucknell (14)
If you're needing a break in the action to say hi to your family, eat dinner or clean up the potato chip crumbs off the couch then the early evening session is the time to do so. There isn't a single game here that really jumps out at me.
9:15 PM (appx.) -- TBS -- UCLA (7) vs. Michigan State (10)
9:30 PM (appx.) -- CBS -- St. John's (6) vs. Gonzaga (11)
9:45 PM (appx.) -- TNT -- Cincinnati (6) vs. Missouri (11)
9:55 PM (appx.) -- truTV -- Kansas State (5) vs. Utah State (12)
This late night session is where its at! All four games are outstanding match-ups and two of them involve Big 12 schools.
